HEADSHOTS WITH LIFE.

Social media profiles. Professional websites. Career advancement. There's a thousand reasons why a professional headshot of yourself is a great idea.

But even more so, it's worth celebrating you.

You matter.

Together we're going to make images of you that you're proud of, that look and feel like you

I can't wait to meet you.

how to prepare

In a few short weeks, we'll be teaming up to make photographs of you that you'll love. But there's a little bit of planning that will go into this process.

WHAT

TO

WEAR

Focus on choosing clothing that you love. There's no need to go out and buy something new - your most trusted black blazer, your favorite personality piece, your lucky professional tie are all incredible options for what to wear.

Our backdrop will be a medium/dark grey, so focus on solid colors in a neutral palette. Whites/browns/blacks are a great place to start, as well as dark colors like forest and navy.

Avoid yellows and reds if possible (in a studio setting, they may affect the way your skin tone looks).

If you're known for vibrant clothing or wacky patterns, do not shy away. Having a piece of your personality will make these images something you cherish.

Above all, remember that a good fitting piece of clothing will go a long way, so choose items that make you feel confident and well seen.

When it comes to hair and makeup, the way you normally dress up is perfect. There's no need to do heavier makeup to accommodate the camera, or to go wild with a new hairstyle. Simple is always best, and will allow you to shine through the images.

There isn't anything you necessarily need to bring - just you and a willing smile.

But I don't want you to feel like this whole time is meant to be serious.

Do you have a favorite office plant? A photo from your desk? A lucky charm you keep nearby? You are more than welcome to bring any sort of small handheld item that would bring life to a photo of you.

This is totally optional, and it's alright if you come to your appointment with nothing in hand. The goal here is for you to feel seen.

WHAT

TO

BRING

Together we'll be spending approximately 10-15 minutes taking different variations of images of you. There will be a wide variety, from full length images to closer, more typical headshot looks.

But together, we're going to play to your strengths. Your favorite things about yourself. We'll take images that look and feel like you.

Our backdrop color will be a medium/dark grey. We'll have studio lights set up, so there will be some lights going off during your time with me. I can promise you they're going to make you look your absolute best.

WHAT

TO

EXPECT

Lastly, remember that however you show up to this session is exactly how it was meant to be. I can't wait to photograph you in a way that's professional, but also real and genuinely you.

If you have any questions, please reach out. I'm an open book, and I want this to be an experience you look forward to.

Thank you x

Makayla
